If you're using a version of Windows Vista since Beta 2 (including RTM), the version of IE7 included with Vista does not have or support the DHTML Editing (ActiveX) control that allows you to compose or reply to messages in Outlook Web Access. As a result, when you try to compose or reply to messages using OWA, you see the part of the message where you would type your message body is grayed out (like a missing image).
To fix it, you need to install the update in KB 911829. Requires Exchange Server 2003 SP2.

I have been having this problem since I installed IE7. It about time MS releaseed this fix.
This is not limited to Vista but alos other Windows version where you install IE7.
Afaik, I've not had a problem accessing OWA with IE7 installed on Windows XP.
The update specifically mentions IE7 on Windows Vista.
I almost forgot how much Microsoft sucked. But every time they put out a new OS, I remember pretty quickly. What other company would repeatedly put out products that aren't compatible with their own products? Priceless.
And people wonder why I still say NT Workstation 4 was the last OS anyone actually needed.
I have users with IE6, mailboxes on Exchnage 2000 and Exchange 2003. Front end server is Exchange 2003.
I have simmilar issues for users on Exchnage 2000, But if i move the user to Exchange 2003 it works.
Any thoughts on this.
Not sure if these issues are related, since you're using IE6 the client is not IE7 on Windows Vista.
- Check if this happens when you use the Exchange 2000 mailbox directly on the BE, or if it only manifests itself when accessing it from the Exchange 2003 FE.
