One more thing: iPhone’s 33% cheaper in 10 weeks

by Bharat Suneja

Did you rush out to buy the cool new and way overhyped 8 Gb iPhone on Day 1 for $599? You must love Jobs’ announcement this morning – the music player + cell phone + web surfing + email (sans Exchange ActiveSync, of course.. ) device just got a 33% price cut. You can now have it for $399!

No Exchange ActiveSync support announced yet – that’s rumored to be in the works with another 33% price cut in early 2008… :)

What does this sarcastic note have to do with Exchange? (other than a brief mention of ActiveSync) Comments like this take away from your blog.

Thanks for the feedback.

It’s likely the iPhone early adopters aren’t too pleased with the quick price cut, even with the $100 rebate thrown in for many. Being close to being an early adopter (given the EAS rumors, it’s hard not to take note.

Given the interest of readers in iPhone and EAS (based on keyword searches used to reach this blog), it’s clear many Exchange users are craving for the iPhone, provided it has ActiveSync support. (Yet many others have gone ahead and bought it, regardless.. ).
