Move Exchange to a new server

Posted by Bharat Suneja at 10:20 AM
So you're ready to upgrade your Exchange server. You bought a shiny new box with the latest & greatest CPU, loaded it with as much RAM as you could afford, and bought the fastest, biggest drives. How do you "move" your Exchange over to a new server?

Exchange MVP Ed Crowley has this well-documented on Simpler Webb.

If you want to remove the old server, and it is the first server in that Administrative Group, follow the instructions in KB article 822931 if the first server is Exchange Server 2003 - How to remove the first Exchange Server 2003 computer from the administrative group - or KB article 307917 if it's running Exchange 2000.

Great scripts. CAn u help me I am trying to enumerate all edb \ stm 's on all my domains and get the size and number of users per storage group. I have seen some script especially form Glenn but I am looking to export this info on a daily basis to my HelpDesk via email and excel attachment so they can add users to appropriate storage groups
